Freedom what does it mean? Have you ever wondered what the price of freedom costs. We live in a free country where our beliefs are our own. We have a freedom that has costs men their lives. We have a freedom to be proud of. We have a freedom in this country because of our soldiers. I know most people don’t listen to country music but I really like the song by Toby Keith, American Soldier. Here are the powerful words:
I’m just tryin’ to be a father, raise a daughter and a sonBe a lover to their mother, everythin’ to everyoneUp and at ‘em bright and early, I’m all business in my suitYeah I’m dressed up for success, from my head down to my bootsI don’t do it for money, there’s bills I that I can’t payI don’t do it for the glory, I just do it anyway
Providing for our future’s, my responsibilityYeah I’m real good under pressure, being all that I can be
And I can’t call in sick on Mondays when the weekend’s been too strongI just work straight through the holidays, and sometimes all night longYou can bet that I stand ready, when the wolf growls at the door Hey I’m solid, hey I’m steady, hey I’m true down to the core. And I will always do my duty no matter what the priceI’ve counted up the cost, I know the sacrificeOh and I don’t want to die for you, but if dyin’s asked of meI’ll bear that cross with honor, cause freedom don’t come free.
I’m an American Soldier an AmericanBeside my brothers and my sisters, I will proudly take a stand
When liberty’s in jeopardy, I will always do what’s rightI’m out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight
American Soldier, I’m and American, Soldier. An American Soldier an AmericanBeside my brothers and my sisters, I will proudly take a standWhen liberty’s in jeopardy, I will always do what’s rightI’m out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonightAmerican Soldier, I’m and American, an American, an American, Soldier.
We really need to pray for our soldiers. Pray that God will protect them. Pray that God’s provisioning hand will be upon them and their families.
